Definition
A tethered charger has a fixed charging cable permanently attached to the charge point. It is normally checked against vehicle compatibility, socket or cable arrangement, installation design and the intended user group.
Why it matters
Tethered designs improve convenience but require the correct connector type, cable length and cable management for the intended users. For UK users, it affects vehicle compatibility, user convenience, accessibility and the practical layout of a charging bay or parking space.
