Modem to WLAN describes a modem providing wireless local network connectivity to chargers or site devices. It is normally considered alongside site connectivity, router/modem configuration, signal availability and ongoing remote support.
Why it matters
It can reduce cabling but depends on mobile coverage, wireless signal quality and site network design. For UK users, it affects whether a charger can remain connected reliably for authorisation, payments, diagnostics and software updates.
