Definition
5G is a newer mobile network generation offering higher potential capacity and lower latency than previous mobile technologies. It is normally considered alongside site connectivity, router/modem configuration, signal availability and ongoing remote support.
Why it matters
It may support future charger connectivity needs, although coverage, cost and hardware support must be checked site by site. For UK users, it affects whether a charger can remain connected reliably for authorisation, payments, diagnostics and software updates.
