Definition
A Residual Current Breaker with Overcurrent combines residual current protection and overcurrent protection in one device. It is normally assessed during product selection, circuit design, installation verification and maintenance of EV charging equipment.
Why it matters
It can simplify EV charger circuit protection, but the correct type, rating and selectivity still need to match the installation design. For UK users, it supports safer specification decisions and reduces the risk of misunderstanding how a charger should be protected or installed.
