Terms in Commercial Information category
C
CE Declaration
A CE Declaration is a declaration that a product meets the applicable EU requirements for placing that product on the EU market. In many cases, this declaration can be issued by the manufacturer themselves, depending on the applicable legislation and conformity assessment route.
Charge Point Operator (CPO)
A Charge Point Operator (CPO) is the organisation responsible for operating one or more EV charge points. Under UK public charging regulation, the CPO is the charge point owner or the person operating it on the owner's behalf. Depending on the commercial arrangement, the CPO may manage availability, maintenance, pricing, payments, roaming, data, customer support and backend operation directly or through contracted service providers.
Co-Funded Model
A Co-Funded Model is a CPO commercial arrangement in which the capital cost of EV charging infrastructure is shared between the Charge Point Operator and another party, such as a site host, local authority, grant scheme or other funding body. A prominent UK example is LEVI, where public LEVI capital is typically combined with private CPO investment and delivered through a concession contract.
D
Datasheet
A datasheet is a technical document summarising a charger's key electrical, mechanical, communication and compliance specifications. It is normally used to keep manufacturer, product, support and procurement information consistent across charger listings.
Dynamic QR Code
A dynamic QR code is generated for a specific charger, session, user journey or payment flow, rather than being a fixed code printed permanently on the charger. The code can direct the user to the correct session or payment process and may expire after use or after a defined time.
E
ENA Connect Direct AC EV
ENA Connect Direct AC EV is an ENA process or listing route for AC EV charge points, supporting connection notification or application workflows for UK distribution networks.
F
Fully Funded Model
A Fully Funded Model is a CPO commercial arrangement in which the Charge Point Operator funds all, or effectively all, of the upfront capital required to deploy EV charging infrastructure. The site host or landowner typically provides the site and contractual rights with little or no capital contribution, while the CPO takes the investment and utilisation risk and recovers its costs from charging revenue over the contract term. Asset ownership, rent and revenue-share terms vary by contract.
I
Installation Manual
An installation manual provides instructions for mounting, wiring, commissioning, configuration and safe installation of a charger. It is normally checked against mounting method, exposure, durability, access requirements and the conditions at the installation location.
Integrated Payment Terminal
An integrated payment terminal is a built-in card or contactless payment device on the charger.
K
Kraken
Kraken is Octopus Energy's technology platform used for energy retail, flexibility and smart energy services. In EV charging, Kraken integration may indicate compatibility with Octopus-managed tariffs, smart charging or energy optimisation services.
L
Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Fund (LEVI)
The Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) Fund is a UK Government programme supporting local authorities in England to plan and deliver local EV charging infrastructure, primarily for residents without off-street parking. It includes capital and capability funding and is intended to unlock additional private investment. Delivery is typically structured through long-term concession contracts in which LEVI capital is combined with investment from an appointed Charge Point Operator.
M
Manufacturer
The organisation that designs, produces or brands EV charging equipment for sale or deployment. It is normally used to keep manufacturer, product, support and procurement information consistent across charger listings.
Manufacturer Website
A manufacturer's official website is the primary online source for product information, support, documentation and company details. It is normally used to keep manufacturer, product, support and procurement information consistent across charger listings.
Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)
Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price is the indicative selling price recommended by the manufacturer before discounts, installation or reseller pricing. It is normally used to keep manufacturer, product, support and procurement information consistent across charger listings.
Model Variant
A specific version of a product that differs by power rating, outlet type, connectivity, cable length, protection or other configuration. It is normally used to keep manufacturer, product, support and procurement information consistent across charger listings.
N
National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program (NEVI)
The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program is a United States federal funding programme that provides funding to states for deployment of public EV charging infrastructure. It was established to build an interconnected charging network, initially focused on designated Alternative Fuel Corridors. Under FY2026 programme rules, the federal share is 80% and private entities may provide the non-federal share of project costs.
O
OZEV Commercial
OZEV Commercial refers to eligibility or listing status for UK workplace, commercial or infrastructure-related EV chargepoint grant schemes administered by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles.
OZEV Domestic
OZEV Domestic refers to eligibility or listing status for UK domestic EV chargepoint grant schemes administered by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles.
P
Part Number
A manufacturer-specific code used to identify a product, model variant, spare part or orderable charger configuration. It is normally used to keep manufacturer, product, support and procurement information consistent across charger listings.
Product Family
A group of related charger models that share a common design, platform, enclosure or product range name. It is normally used to keep manufacturer, product, support and procurement information consistent across charger listings.
Product Name
The public-facing name used to identify a specific EV charger model or product range. It is normally used to keep manufacturer, product, support and procurement information consistent across charger listings.
Product Status
The current lifecycle state of a charger, such as active, new, discontinued, legacy or not currently available. It is normally used to keep manufacturer, product, support and procurement information consistent across charger listings.
S
Self-Funded Model
A Self-Funded Model is an EV charging commercial arrangement in which the site owner, host or customer funds the capital cost of the charging infrastructure rather than relying on CPO capital. The funder may own the charging assets and can separately procure installation, backend, maintenance, payment and CPO services. Commercial structures vary, and a self-funded site can still appoint a CPO to operate the network.
Support Page
A support page is an online manufacturer or provider page for help, technical support, FAQs, downloads or contact routes. It is normally used to keep manufacturer, product, support and procurement information consistent across charger listings.
U
UKCA Declaration
A UKCA Declaration is a declaration that a product meets the applicable Great Britain requirements for placing that product on the GB market. In many cases, this declaration can be issued by the manufacturer themselves, depending on the applicable regulations and conformity assessment route.
W
Warranty
Warranty is the manufacturer's stated cover period and conditions for repair, replacement or support if a product develops a covered fault. It is normally used to keep manufacturer, product, support and procurement information consistent across charger listings.
Warranty Extension
A warranty extension is an optional or included increase to the standard warranty period or support cover. It is normally used to keep manufacturer, product, support and procurement information consistent across charger listings.
