Information
Definition
A dynamic QR code is generated for a specific charger, session, user journey or payment flow, rather than being a fixed code printed permanently on the charger. The code can direct the user to the correct session or payment process and may expire after use or after a defined time.
Why it matters
Dynamic QR codes can reduce the risk of QR-code scams compared with static stickers, because the payment or authorisation flow can be session-specific and harder to replace with a fraudulent code. Users should still check that the destination is trusted.
