EV Charging Terminology

High Power Charging refers to very high-output DC charging intended to add energy quickly during short stops. It is normally assessed alongside charging mode, AC/DC architecture, power rating, connector type and how the charger shares or delivers power.

High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) is a 3G mobile data enhancement once used to improve download speeds over legacy cellular networks. In the UK it should be treated as retired alongside 3G, so it is not suitable for new EV charger communication designs or long-term backend connectivity.
