National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program (NEVI)
The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program is a United States federal funding programme that provides funding to states for deployment of public EV charging infrastructure. It was established to build an interconnected charging network, initially focused on designated Alternative Fuel Corridors. Under FY2026 programme rules, the federal share is 80% and private entities may provide the non-federal share of project costs.
Native Solar Support
Native solar support means the charger can work directly with solar generation or site energy monitoring to adjust EV charging based on available solar output, without relying entirely on a third-party workaround.
Network Sharing
Network sharing allows multiple chargers or outlets to share a communication path, gateway, modem or local network connection. It is normally considered alongside site connectivity, router/modem configuration, signal availability and ongoing remote support.
Networking
Networking refers to the physical and wireless communication arrangements that connect chargers to local systems, gateways or backend platforms. It is normally considered alongside site connectivity, router/modem configuration, signal availability and ongoing remote support.
NFC (NFC)
NFC is short-range wireless communication used for contactless identification or payment, commonly through cards, phones or tokens.
North American Charging Standard (NACS)
North American Charging Standard is the connector system now commonly referred to as NACS and used in North American EV charging. It is normally checked against vehicle compatibility, socket or cable arrangement, installation design and the intended user group.
Number of Outlets
The number of independent charging outlets available on a single charge point or charging unit. It is normally checked against vehicle compatibility, socket or cable arrangement, installation design and the intended user group.
