Information
Definition
EV charging equipment intended primarily for homes, driveways, garages or private residential parking. It is normally used to match charger features to the intended environment, utilisation pattern and user group.
Why it matters
Domestic suitability affects smart charging rules, installation design, user interface needs and typical single-phase supply constraints in the UK. For UK users, it supports clearer product filtering and avoids comparing chargers designed for very different operating environments.
