Information
Definition
Scheduled charging allows charging to start, stop or prioritise at specific times set by the user, vehicle, charger or backend. It is normally considered alongside charge point management systems, OCPP support, firmware updates, reporting and remote diagnostics.
Why it matters
It helps use cheaper tariffs, avoid peak periods and meet UK smart charging expectations for private charge points. For UK users, it affects whether EV charging can be added without unnecessary supply upgrades or nuisance limitation of other site loads.
