Evolt Charging begins operating under new standalone legal entity

Evolt Charging has begun operating under a new legal entity, Evolt Charging Ltd, following an internal reorganisation of SWARCO Smart Charging Ltd.

The change took effect on 1 August 2026. Evolt says the commercial charging business remains part of the SWARCO group and that the restructuring is intended to give greater clarity to customers, partners and suppliers as Evolt and PoGo Charge continue to serve different markets and commercial models.

Companies House records show Evolt Charging Ltd as an active company with company number 17274427. The company was incorporated in June 2026 ahead of the operational change.

The brand remains, but the contracting entity has changed

For customers, the most important distinction is that this is more than a branding update. A new legal entity can affect the company name and registration details shown on contracts, purchase orders, warranties, framework agreements, accreditations and supplier records even where the customer-facing brand and staff remain unchanged.

Evolt’s announcement places a strong emphasis on continuity and says the business remains focused on its existing service, software and customer-support capabilities. It does not indicate a withdrawal of products or an immediate reduction in customer support.

Existing contracts and warranties need document-level clarity

The public announcement does not explain how individual legacy contracts held with SWARCO Smart Charging Ltd are being transferred to Evolt Charging Ltd.

It also does not set out whether existing equipment warranties, maintenance agreements, framework appointments, software subscriptions and customer accounts automatically move to the new entity or remain with the original contracting company until formally transferred.

That does not imply there is a problem with continuity. It simply means customers and procurement teams should rely on their contract documentation and any formal notices issued to them rather than assuming that every legal relationship follows the brand automatically.

Manufacturer and supplier records may need updating

For EV charging databases and approved-supplier records, the restructuring creates a practical housekeeping requirement. Company name, registration number, invoicing details and legal terms should be checked before records are changed.

The same applies to compliance documentation and accreditations where certificates are issued to a named legal entity. A certificate held by one group company should not automatically be treated as belonging to another unless the issuing body or documentation confirms that position.

Evolt remains within the wider SWARCO structure

Evolt’s own corporate information describes Evolt Charging Ltd as powered by SWARCO UK & Ireland and part of the wider SWARCO Group. The reorganisation therefore appears to separate the commercial charging operation into a clearer legal structure rather than separating the brand from SWARCO ownership.
