The chargers can deliver up to 200 kW, subject to the vehicle’s own charging limit and battery conditions. LEAP24 says there is no separate site-access or parking fee, and the location has been added to Uber’s Heathrow waiting-area information to help drivers include charging in their working day.
A small hub for high-mileage drivers
Airport work creates a demanding charging pattern. Taxi and private-hire vehicles can cover high daily mileages, while time spent away from the terminal means lost earning potential. A nearby rapid charge can therefore be more useful than a slower destination charger, even when the driver only needs a short top-up.
Four bays will add useful capacity but the site is still relatively small for an area with concentrated fleet and private-hire demand. Availability at busy times will be as important as the headline charging speed, and not every vehicle will be able to accept the full 200 kW.
Separate Triumph Close project remains in development
The opened New Road hub should not be confused with another LEAP24 project near Heathrow. The operator has separately promoted a four-bay site on Triumph Close, off Bath Road, with 300 kW chargers. LEAP24’s published locations information and recent project updates continued to describe Triumph Close as under development.
The distinction matters because the two projects have different addresses and charging specifications. The New Road opening adds immediate capacity near the airport, while the larger-power Triumph Close plan would add further provision when it becomes operational.
