The event runs on 25 and 26 August at the COEX Conference Centre and is hosted with the Korea Testing Laboratory.
Implementations are tested against multiple counterparties
The Plugfest uses round-robin testing rather than allowing participants to validate only against their own preferred counterpart.
Charging-station and CSMS teams can test their implementations with multiple partners, compare behaviour and identify compatibility problems that may not appear during isolated development or laboratory work.
V2G, ISO 15118-20 and security are on the programme
Conference sessions cover the OCPP certification programme, charger cybersecurity, ISO 15118-20, Plug & Charge, V2G certification and OCPP 2.1 V2X functionality.
The second day also includes sessions on V2G grid-support functions and the relationship between OCPP and distributed-energy integration.
The useful story will be what the testing exposes
The opening of the event is notable, but the stronger technical value will come from concrete interoperability findings.
Recurring problems around OCPP 2.1 implementation, ISO 15118-20 interaction, V2G functions, certification or security would be more significant than the event itself.
Those outcomes are particularly relevant as newer protocol versions move from specification work into deployed charging hardware and backend systems.
