The two-day event combined OCPP implementation testing with technical presentations covering OCPP 2.1, vehicle-to-grid grid support, certification and security. The public wrap-up confirms the areas tested and discussed, but it does not publish detailed interoperability failures, pass rates or issue statistics.
OCPP implementations tested with OCTT
OCA says participating test teams worked with Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL) experts during High-Quality Testing sessions. The teams used the OCPP Compliance Testing Tool (OCTT) to assess their implementations and received guidance from KTL test-lab specialists on areas that could be improved.
The testing format gives charger and backend developers a structured opportunity to assess OCPP implementations with formal tooling and specialist input before problems reach commercial deployments. However, OCA has not disclosed which implementations were tested or what technical issues were found during the Seoul sessions.
OCPP 2.1 and V2G featured in the programme
The conference programme included presentations on certification and securing the OCPP ecosystem, while the second day included sessions on OCPP 2.1 and V2G grid support.
OCPP 2.1 extends the protocol into areas including bidirectional charging and support for newer ISO 15118 functionality. The fact that V2G and OCPP 2.1 featured prominently in the Seoul programme reflects the increasing need to test how chargers, charging-management systems and grid-facing functionality work together rather than treating the chargepoint as an isolated device.
A valuable follow-up for engineers, CPOs and backend providers would be any publication of recurring interoperability problems, certification lessons, OCTT findings or implementation guidance arising from the event.
