The integration allows eligible drivers to use InstaVolt’s public rapid and ultra-rapid network while charging activity is handled through the Shell Card business account rather than requiring each driver to make and reconcile a separate retail payment.
The value is in payment access, not network ownership
The arrangement expands the charging network available to Shell Card customers, but it does not mean Shell owns or operates the InstaVolt chargers. InstaVolt remains the charge point operator; Shell Card provides an access and payment route for participating fleet customers.
For fleets, that distinction matters less operationally than the resulting accounting flow. The objective is increasingly to link driver, charger, energy use, business account and invoice without relying on repeated employee expense claims or separate payment methods.
InstaVolt’s network has expanded materially during 2026, including through its acquisition of more than 200 GeniePoint locations. The Shell Card agreement gives business users another way to access that growing estate without changing the underlying ownership of the charging assets.
